Our Purpose and mission

Multi Domain Leadership is a rallying point for those who seek to learn and improve. Whether you are a new leader, or someone seeking advice, there are resources here that can help.

Our purpose is to gather the tools for leaders to use in their everyday lives. To help Australians - or anyone - better develop themselves so they can better understand the landscape that they survey as a leader.

Our mission is to develop a resource that others may use to improve themselves and their teams, in order to lift the practice of leadership throughout society.

WEBSITE

This site is designed to help leaders find resources that can assist their development. To achieve this, the website is set out in various areas:

BLOG

The blog is where contributors post their own insights and understandings about the theory and practice of leadership.

THEORY

Theory provides a foundation for leaders to understand themselves, their teams, their organisations, and how we as humans influence each other - and ourselves. In this section, you can review some blog posts that distil academic publications on leadership into easily digested summaries. There is also a page that looks at how various organisations, steeped in leadership development experience and expertise, go about improving leaders.

PRACTICE

This section provides resources and tools for leaders to apply the theory of leadership. It contains links to websites, podcasts and other media to peruse and absorb. It also includes a blog with book reviews and pages with recommended reading, both short and long form.

COMMUNITY

Leadership is not a solo sport. This section seeks to gather and distribute the lessons of other leaders - everyday leaders whose stories are too often overlooked or disregarded. Every leader has lessons they can pass on. This section is a resource to learn from other leaders, and to pass on your own hard-won wisdom.

Communicate

Leadership is impossible without communication. We’d love to hear your feedback to help us improve. If you’re interested in engaging at the next level, we send update emails with a lesson we’ve learned, an interesting article we’ve found, and an example of leadership - effective or non-effective - from a current event in the world.

Summary

Leadership is something we all encounter. No matter what your occupation, hobby, background or experience, leadership - and followership - is part of everyone’s life. Regardless of whether you feel like an ‘official’ leader, your contribution to the collective wisdom will help others. Thank you for taking the time to add your thoughts on leadership.
